About

A self-proclaimed foodie, I decided it was about time to quit my safe, high- profile corporate job in one very big city to pursue my lifelong dream of attending culinary school. To know me is to realize that I like a plan, so leaving the security of a great job [in my 30s] for an uncertain future is a bit uncharacteristic (i.e my family thinks I’m nuts).  The thing is, food has always been a huge part of my life. From helping my grandmother bake her famous jelly cookies as a child, to hosting my own extravagant dinner parties as an adult. To say food is my greatest passion is not an exaggeration at all. I love to talk about food, I love to eat food, I love to read about food and, most importantly, I love to make delicious food!  So here I am, starting culinary school,  about to embark on a very exciting new course in my life.

Therefore, I thought it only fitting to title my website A Second Course. Starting a new endeavor, call it a second course in my career… there will be many new classes or courses in school…. and most importantly, in the very near future hopefully I’ll be preparing many scrumptious second courses, and third courses, and dessert courses…..well, you get the idea!

I welcome and invite you to follow along my culinary journey…it should be a “sweet” ride!

Disclaimer:  This is a personal website where I plan to write about my daily experiences in culinary school, share interesting facts or advice regarding all things food and make personal recommendations. Call it a culmination and ongoing diary based on 30+ years of experience, studying, reading, cooking and enjoying food. I make no claims to be an “expert”, just a passionate food enthusiast who wants to share what I have learned over the years with the world!
